Teaching computer science to girls in school year clubs and summer immersion programs.

Girls Who Code is a national nonprofit working to close the gender gap in the technology sector. Girls Who Code programs work to educate, inspire, and equip high school girls with the skills and resources to pursue opportunities in computing fields.

Girls Who Code hosts free coding clubs around the country at schools, libraries and community centers and teaches 6th-12th grade girls computer science in a fun and friendly environment. Students learn about functions, variables, conditionals and loops and can learn Python, C++, Java Script, HTML, jQuery, SQL and Scratch from instructors who have knowledge of programming fundamentals. Students do not need to have prior computer programming experience.

Come meet the members of the Girls Who Code Club from the Belmont Library and learn about their experience and how you could start your own Club.
