About

UMass Summer Programs invites motivated high school students interested in hands-on learning experiences to apply to Summer Pre-College. With a wide range of program offerings in 1-week, 2-week or 6-week sessions, students can earn college credit and gain valuable experience for future college applications. Courses include Sport Management, Engineering, Design Academy, Astronomy, Forensic Chemistry and more.

Featured is our 6-week Research Intensives, a competitive research program that places high-achieving high school students in professional working labs alongside distinguished faculty, graduate and undergraduate students in state-of-the-art facilities. We offer placements in Biology, Biochemistry, Environmental Conservation, Physics, Psychology and Food Sciences.

Students reside in the modern, fully air-conditioned Commonwealth Honors College Residential Community, and have access to the W.E.B. DuBois Library, the largest academic research library in the state, as well as the Recreation Center. A series of college prep workshops, nightly social events, and weekend field trips on campus and around the Pioneer Valley supplement our exciting and rigorous academic programs.
